Sushrut samhita has a separate class (वर्ग) for water known as jal varg (जल वर्ग) . Water is of two types according to sushrut sanhita[1]. When it comes from sky it is tasteless. Acharya Sushrut called this heavenly water as “antariksh” jal and considered it as “ekant pathya”. The water coming from sky also known as अंतरिक्ष जल is purest form of water. when it comes in contact with environmental impurities it becomes polluted. The antariksh jal is tasteless. It is refreshing and pure like nectar.
